Kenneth Lovelett VIEW PROFILE

A driver was killed early Thursday morning when his car overturned on Route 28 in western Montgomery County. Kenneth James Lovelett, 58, was driving east when his car crossed the center line, drove through the westbound lane and off the road, struck a power pole, and flipped, Montgomery County police said. Police said that Lovelett was not wearing a seatbelt, and there were no known witnesses to the crash. A two-mile stretch of Route 28, between Martinsburg Road and Beallsville Road, closed for nearly six hours after the crash. By 10 a.m., the road was partially open but required further work to fix the power pole, which split in half, according to police.

Hey, Ken was a good guy.  I worried about him a little and always wondered what became of him.  I am sorry I did not know of his passing, I would have liked to attend a service if there was one.  Man he could ride a bike!

Hey, Ken was a good guy. ]  He was. At school, my evaluation of anybody had, as its first question: Do they pick on me? Ken never did. He was always kind to me. He minded his own business and - even though when I talked with him, I could tell he was intelligent, and had no difficulty knowing what was going on around him - he had no interest in putting others down.

Ken was always a nice guy and we were close biking and camping buddys for many years. He was an avid biker and we had many adventures w John McCord , Chris Jennerick and other buds. I think the early unexpected death of his father was traumatic for he and his brother Tom. I was deeply sadened to see his passing as the world needs more compassionate thoughtful folks. Thanks all for the comments and memories.

My mother has kept in touch with Tom, Ken's brother. Ken's death was thought not to be an accident. He was a troubled soul. I knew him well growing up.

My memories of Ken are from around 1970-72. He always seemed kind and curious, relaxed and fun-loving. I remember Marc Wishner and Ken as a duo. I'm sorry to hear of his early departure from this life. Condolences to his family and those close to him.

Ken and I were not so close at Whitman. I remember him from our days at Radnor Elementary and Pyle. Boyhood pals and neighbors (he on Brite Drive, me on Burling Court). I remember his raccoon, Dana, and the fancy outdoor pen his father built for the pet. Thanks, Craig and Marc, for the reminders of Ken's mental health struggles in the wake of his fathers death. I remember catching up with him many years after Whitman graduation and hearing something of his post graduate life. Strange how some memories stretching back nearly 60 years can retain their impact...

So nice to read all of the heartfelt posts from classmates about Ken Lovelett!  I also knew Ken when we both attended Radnor Elementary but sadly lost touch with Ken when we matriculated to TW Pyle and Walt Whitman.  My memories of Ken echo most of the other posts.  Particularly enjoyed the photo posted by Chris!  Rest in peace Ken.  The world need more of your thoughtfulness and kindness.
