Hi Scott,
I read your message to me posted on Classmates.com, but I had difficulty replying to your posting. Yes, it is good to hear from you. It has been over 50 years since our graduation from Pyle and Whitman. I remember you calling me at home one evening to interview me for a class writing project. I hope you got an A for the paper. Your class profile shows that you are retired! I also plan to retire at the end of 2023. When you get in touch with Jane Birnbaum, please say Hi to her. She is in our hearts, and our prayers are with her. Wish you and your family well. David

Dear Jane,
Thank you for sharing with the class your battle with cancer, your pent-up emotions, and your untold story. Your undelivered valedictorian speech “All You Need is Love” would have been timeless, like many of the Beatle songs, as a reflection of our culture in the 1970s and as an ethos the world desperately needs today.
I remember you well when I joined our 6th grade class with Mrs. Castle at Bannockburn. I had immigrated from Taiwan for about a year and did not know much English. I remembered you being very smart, kind, attractive, and soft spoken. In reference to your reply to Bob Lyon, many people admired you and likely had a crush on you, too. My impression of you was correct when you graduated #1 of our class and got into Harvard. Too bad we were busy with our studies and never crossed paths when we were both in Cambridge. I bought my bike at Harvard Square for my commute to MIT.
As you have fought hard and undoubtedly achieved much. We would love to hear more of your stories. Forget about Andy and Mark, but it is cathartic to let them know how you feel ... "F***" them. Don't spend another nanosecond thinking or waste another one of your precious breaths talking about them. What goes around comes around. It is clear from all the postings that we are all supporting you and praying for you.
All you need is love!
I have never smoked a joint, but please smoke one for me if it eases your pain.
